Red Grouper Tavern

I'm glad we decided to try a different place. We have some favorite restaurants on the area for when we come down for vacation and now we've added a new place. My wife got the shrimp sandwich and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the beer battered cod fish. It was fried perfectly. Nice and crispy. The fish was flaky and delicious. Great stuff. The place was decorated very well. The waitresses were very nice and helpful.

1st time in Venice and went to Sharkey's, Pop's, Dockside and Red grouper tavern. This place had the best food! My wife had the shrimp burger and I had the blacken grouper sandwich. The fish was cooked perfectly and the bun was tasty. Wow...it was all crazy good including the sides! The real highlight was the key lime pie! The bartender was a pastry chief at onetime and makes the keylime pie & peanut butter pie scratch/home made...amazing! I consider myself a key lime pie connoisseur and this was truly these best I ever had! Not too tart and the crust was amazing! If you find yourself in Venice, Fl wondering where to eat, put this place on the top of your list. You will thank me!

Good food, good drinks, great atmosphere, what else can you ask for!? Well I will say if you ever get a chance to have a spot at the bar, Matt is always a pleasure to have and not just for making some of the most amazing drinks I’ve ever had but also he’s cheery attitude and ability to communicate 2nd to none and I guarantee you will be leaving with a smile on your face and a very satisfied stomach!

My parents, daughter, and I came here for the first time tonight. We started with drinks and ordered the grouper bites and potato skins for appetizers. The serving sizes were perfect for our table (food is missing in the pictures because we descended upon them like locusts), and Karen did a great job of timing the appetizers with our meals. For entrees, we ordered the tavern burger, red snapper, and surf & turf. All of the food was piping hot, the garlic bread was garlicky and delicious, and the serving sizes were perfect with the appetizers. For dessert, we got both the key lime pie and the pineapple upside down cake. Try the latter with a scoop of ice cream, it was fantastic.Definitely a place we’ll be back to!

We have been here once before and ordered clam chowder then which was delicious. I ordered it again today and it was OUTSTANDING! It is now my favorite clam chowder ever. I’m not exaggerating about how full of clams it was. It was almost like a stew. I wasn’t super hungry when I came in and just got the chowder, and I’m stuffed. My dining partner ordered breakfast and polished his plate! Sandy our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. There were 3 severs there and a large party of probably 15 women came in. They all pitched in cheerfully to get the table served

We tried Red Grouper tonight after reading many positive Facebook reviews, and weren't disappointed. Daniel was our server, and he did an excellent job. We ordered the potato chip appetizer, and lobster special & grouper fish and chips entrees. The potato chips were served with blue cheese & ranch dipping sauces. The hot fresh chips were delicious and vanished quickly. My lobster was perfectly cooked, as were the fish and chips. Looking forward to our next visit.

Had the pleasure of meeting owner, Sherry. Everything is homemade.I tried the House Specialty, the Shrimp Burger which features a crab cake style shrimp pattie, with fries and slaw and old bay mayo on side. It was really good and unique. My husband chose the beer battered cod and stuffed himself. Sweet Tea was on point! We both also had added side salads with house made ranch, which in hind sight was too much to eat in all, but dang that ranch is good so I'm not mad I added it!Can't wait to visit again. I would love to try other food options next time!

Great drinks, quick food and amazing servers. The lobster roll was perfect! Get the homemade potatoe chips as they are super delish!
